Workshops Now in Two Locations!
Flint Hill School (Washington, DC/Northern Virginia)
June 21-25, 2010
The Urban School of San Francisco
July 19 – 29, 2010
This summer, the Center for Innovative Teaching 2010 offers educators its fifth annual program with
workshops in key academic, co-curricular and leadership areas. CIT also hosts its third annual
Integrated Technology Symposium for principals, heads of schools, academic and faculty deans, directors of technology and education professionals interested in visioning the future of their schools.
This year, workshops
will be held on both the East and West Coasts, allowing more education
professionals to attend. The East Coast CIT will be held on the campus
of
Flint Hill School in Oakton (Fairfax County), VA, 15 miles from Washington, DC, and CIT West will be held at program's home base,
The Urban School of San Francisco.
CIT
workshops are hands-on and designed to share classroom-tested
activities and approaches that will enhance the academic and leadership
program at any middle and high school. For maximum impact, we encourage
teams of two or more participants from the same school to enroll.
The
Center for Innovative Teaching is sponsored by The Urban School, an
independent, college preparatory high school with 350 students and an
acclaimed academic and co-curricular program. Urban’s responsibility as
a global educational leader to share its experience has been part of
the school’s strategic plans for more than a decade.
Urban has
been at the forefront of educational innovation since its founding in
1966, developing such forward-looking pedagogical practices as block
scheduling, collaborative learning and a nationally recognized service
learning program. A one-to-one laptop school since 2001, Urban has
developed cutting-edge curriculum in all subject areas and has become a
world-class leader in the use of digital tools.
We’re looking forward to sharing what we’ve learned with you. Please join us at CIT 2010!
